橈骨莖突狹窄-腱鞘炎
This condition, along with tenosynovitis of the flexor digitorurn muscle, falls within the traditional domain of’ sinew blockage.’ It is generally attributed to injury of the Muscle channels which obstructs the circulation of Qi and Blood.
這種情況與屈指肌腱鞘炎一樣,屬於傳統的「肌腱阻塞」範疇。一般是筋經損傷,氣血運作受阻所致。
Treatment is directed toward relaxing the muscles and facilitating the circulation through the channels.
治療的目的是放鬆肌肉並促進經絡的循環。
Needling
Principal points: Point( s) of tenderness
Supplementary points: LI-5 (Yangxl), LU- 7 (Lieque), L4 (Hegu)
Method: The most tender point is the most important in the prescription. Insert 2-4 needles at this point with transverse insertions pointed in different directions.
Treat once daily or on alternating days.
Ten to fifteen treatments constitute one course.
Injection therapy
Inject 5% Angelica sinesis ( danggul) or cortisone acetate hydrocortisone, combined with 1% procaine, into the point of maximum tenderness. Treat once every 2-7 days.

Ear acupuncture
Points: Wrist, Neurogate, Subcortex
Method: Use moderate to strong stimulation, retaining needles 10-25 minutes. Ten to fifteen treatments constitute one course.
Cutaneous acupuncture
Tap the needle over the affected area until there is slight bleeding. This serves both an analgesic and anti-inflammatory function. Treat once daily or on alternating days.
Moxibustion
Warm the affected area with moxa sticks for 10-20 minutes. Treat 1-3 times daily.

Remarks
- During the course of treatment, movement of the affected wrist should be kept to a minimum and the wrist itself kept warm.
